Introduction

Shatavari is a popular plant which usually found in low jungle regions of India as well as the Himalayas, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. Its botanical name is Asparagus racemosus and belongs to Liliaceae family, and grows up to 2 metres.

In India, it is classified to be women’s equivalent to Ashwangandha, which means “she who possesses 100 husbands” due to its effects on the female reproductive system. Apart from this, shatavari is used as a remedy for many ailments in both men and women. Australians use shatavari internally to cure gastrointestinal disorders and as an external treatment for wounds.
